What is the Statewide Open House Weekend?
We are encouraging REALTORS® around the state of Minnesota to hold open houses on the weekend of August 21 and 22, 2010 during Statewide Open House Weekend! Many people who have listed their homes for sale will open their doors with a REALTOR® as a host!
How is this weekend different than any other weekend in August?
This is an incredible opportunity for consumers to shop for a new home whiles:
Interest rates are still low;
Home prices are lower;
A wide variety of homes in many different price ranges are available.
Why buy now?
For many people, now really is a good time to buy a home. Inventory is high, prices are down and mortgage rates are near 50-year lows.
HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?
There are many ways to get involved! You can do all of these things or do one of these things to be a part of this exciting weekend event!

OPEN HOUSE. Choose which listing(s) you'd like to promote with an open house the weekend of August 21 and 22.

BALLOONS. We have ordered a limited number of balloons that we will distribute to your Local Associations/Board of REALTORS® the week of August 9th. These will be available for pick up at your local association/board office sometime that week. Please stay tuned for more details.

ADVERTISING. Ads will be placed in the StarTribune and Pioneer Press to inform consumers about this special weekend. These ads will run during the week of August 16th.

PRESS RELEASES. Local media will also be alerted to this event. We are hopeful that we will generate some media coverage in advance of the event and on the actual weekend of the event as well.
