In this episode of the Minnesota Homeownership Center's Welcome Home podcast, MNR Senior Vice President of Governmental Affairs Paul Eger joined representatives from the Center, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity and Minnesota Realtors® to discuss the 2023 state legislative session, and the $100 million First-Generation Homebuyer Down Payment Assistance Fund signed into law.

The first-generation homebuyer down payment assistance pilot program was brought forward by a diverse coalition of groups led by Minnesota Realtors® (MNR), the Minnesota Homeownership Center (the Center), and Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. “Our members.... see homeownership, and the value it brings, to both individuals and communities. It’s something we value as an organization, to try and get as many people into homeownership as we can. This [First-Generation Homebuyer Downpayment Assistance Fund] is really an important opportunity to make some progress on closing the state’s racial homeownership gap," said Paul.
