Fair Housing: The Law and Beyond — NAR Cycle 8
2 CE hours | FREE for MNR Members 

This course offers a comprehensive exploration of fair housing laws, historical and current discriminatory practices, and ethical standards in real estate. From the origins of housing discrimination to the Fair Housing Act and Minnesota Human Rights Act, participants will gain valuable insight into legal protections, advertising compliance, and the REALTOR® Code of Ethics. Through case studies and real-world examples, agents will deepen their understanding of bias, steering, and practical steps they can take to uphold fair housing principles in their practice.

Please note: This course has been approved by the Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce for 2 hours of Real Estate Continuing Education and this course also satisfies NAR Required 2.0 Hours of Fair Housing, DOC Required 1.0 Fair Housing.

2025 - 2026 Salesperson & Broker Required Module - Contracts
3.75 CE hours | FREE for MNR Members 

This course provides real estate professionals both agents and brokers with practical answers to frequently asked questions about real estate contracts. Participants will explore recent changes to industry standards and rules, along with the legal requirements for properly forming agreements. The course highlights best practices for addressing common and unique contractual challenges, including compensation, disclosure obligations, and other critical issues. It also covers seller and licensee disclosure responsibilities, including material facts, exceptions, statutory requirements, and REALTORS® Code of Ethics standards.

The Realtors® Code of Ethics: A Standard for Success - Cycle 8
2.5 CE hours | FREE for MNR Members

NAR’s Code of Ethics, adopted in 1913, was one of the first codifications of ethical duties adopted by any business group. The Code ensures that consumers are served by requiring REALTORS® to cooperate with each other in furthering clients’ best interests. Code of Ethics reviews the commonly violated articles of the Code, the complaint process, and the hearing process. 

Please note: This course counts toward your NAR Code of Ethics requirement and has been approved by the Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce for 2.5 hours of Real Estate Continuing Education. 

Counseling Buyers
3 CE hours 

This course provides real estate licensees with the essential tools and knowledge to effectively represent buyers throughout the home-buying process. From the initial consultation to closing and beyond, the course emphasizes client communication, ethical representation, fair housing compliance, and key strategies for guiding buyers in a competitive market.

Counseling Sellers
3 CE hours 

This course is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of real estate licensees when working with sellers. Through a step-by-step breakdown of the listing process, participants will gain a deeper understanding of agency relationships, fair housing responsibilities, disclosure requirements, and best practices for seller representation.

How Much Home Can I Really Afford?
3 CE hours 

This course will cover financial issues in purchasing real estate, including cost and financial benefits of home ownership, appreciation, inflation, taxes, return on investment, payment ratios, debt analysis, qualifying payment amounts and budget planning and management.

Minnesota Real Estate Contracts
3 CE hours 

This class will explore contracts and forms related to the Minnesota residential real estate transactions. Special emphasis will be placed on the contract issues that come up in day-to-day business so agents will be better equipped to serve buyers and sellers after instruction on what is contractually required, with a particular focus on changes which have occurred since the 2024 Settlement Agreement of seller anti-trust suits.

New Home Construction Sales 101
3 CE hours 

“New Home Construction Sales 101” is designed to introduce the student to the arena of new home construction sales and provide the basic knowledge platforms needed to begin incorporating new construction sales into their business plans as real estate agents. Content is targeted towards agents with limited or no experience representing buyers in a new construction sale or who have never represented a builder. The learning objectives are designed to take the fear out of recommending new construction homes to customers and clients.
