Giving Campaign raises more than $250,000

Realtor associations form coalition to raise money and rebuild businesses
damaged in Minneapolis and Saint Paul civil unrest

MINNEAPOLIS (Oct. 12, 2020) – A coalition of Realtor® associations from across the Twin Cities has collected more than a quarter million dollars in donations for businesses that were damaged during civil unrest in Minneapolis and St. Paul earlier this year. The effort was spearheaded by MN Realtors® Rebuilding Community, a multi-association initiative created in June 2020 to engage Realtors® on housing issues related to racial diversity, equity and inclusion.

In September, MN Realtors® Rebuilding Community launched a Giving Campaign to support homeownership by raising $250,000 toward rebuilding businesses that are the backbone of healthy communities. The group reached its goal and raised $250,120.

The funds will be distributed to the following organizations:

  • Upper Northside Business Association
  • Longfellow Community Council
  • Minneapolis Foundation Fund for Safe Communities
  • Twin Cities Rebuild for the Future Fund

With financial contributions coming from near and far, the 20-plus Realtor associations and real estate organizations that participated in the fundraising campaign demonstrate the unity and support that makes us proud to be Minnesotans.

MN Realtors® Rebuilding Community’s founding partners are the Minnesota Realtors, Minneapolis Area Realtors and Saint Paul Area Association of Realtors. The group’s mission is to work together to make meaningful changes that address racial injustice in our community by focusing on learning, partnership and action to help build a better future.
