Capitol BuildingMNR’s Governmental Affairs Team Supports Homeowners and Realtors®

As we observe both Advocacy Month in May and National Homeownership Month in June, it’s a good time to remember that homeownership is an engine for Minnesota’s economy and a source of stability, wealth, community, and opportunity for our citizens. That’s why Minnesota Realtors’® (MNR) Governmental Affairs (GA) team is dedicated to advocating for the real estate industry, fighting for property owners’ rights, and working to help more Minnesotans own homes. We do this by:

  • Partnering with legislators to support bills that advance homeownership and help brokerages and Realtors® thrive and grow
  • Opposing laws that hurt our industry and homeowners
  • Working with lawmakers and other advocacy groups to find solutions to Minnesota’s shortage of affordable housing

Tapping the best brains in real estate

Because our members are at the center of everything we do, we turn to their expert guidance and insights through the GA Committee. This volunteer panel of leading real estate professionals reviews legislation and recommends public policies that benefit our industry and homeowners across the state.

Expanding your influence through MN-RPAC

Your contributions to the bi-partisan Minnesota Realtors® Political Action Committee (MN-RPAC) help us support candidates and legislators who are strong advocates for homeowners and the real estate industry. Learn more at our MN-RPAC website.

Keeping you informed

Every week during the Legislative Session, the GA team keeps you informed with the Session Update, a quick-reading digest about the political developments impacting your business and the clients you serve.

How a bill becomes law

Turning a bill into a law can be like sitting in a traffic jam for three months (or years). Fortunately, we’ve boiled the whole process down to a short and breezy video: How a Bill Becomes Law .
