I encourage first-time homebuyers to talk with several Realtors® to find one whose style and communication feels right and one they can trust to hear your dreams, wants, and needs. You’ll want a Realtor® with expertise, empathy, and candor to assist you each step of the journey: from lender pre-approval to negotiating, to closing to moving into your first home!

One of the most important things for a buyer is having their financing in order. In a seller’s market that makes a difference. Buyers should also be ready to offer more than list price because of multiple offers and have an idea on how much they are willing to go over list price.

Think about your first home purchase as part of a life plan. Your goal is to find a way to maximize that opportunity in order to build wealth. How do you see your future moving forward? How many homes do you think you might purchase over your lifetime? How long do you think you will live in your first home, 5-7 years, or 10-20 years? What do you think your family will look like in the future? These are the first conversations we have.

We operate from the belief that knowledge is power. We arm our first-time homebuyers with a wealth of knowledge so that they are equipped to make powerful decisions around purchasing the largest financial asset of their lives – their first home. We know how overwhelming the process can be the first time, so we recommend ensuring that you have the right team to support you, educate you, and guide you through the nuances that come with buying residential real estate.
