Minnesota Realtors® Day at the Capitol is your first can’t miss event of 2024. And this year, we’re heading back to the Capitol. You will network with peers, hear from expert industry leaders on pressing housing issues, and have an opportunity to visit the Capitol Complex and drop by the offices of your legislators. This exclusive event will begin at the Minnesota History Center and finish down the street at the State Capitol Building. Featuring NAR’s Chief Economist Lawrence Yun and political strategist, Todd Rapp.

Dr. Lawrence Yun

NAR Chief Economist

Lawrence Yun is Chief Economist and oversees the Research group at the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®. He supervises and is responsible for a wide range of research activity for the association including NAR's Existing Home Sales statistics, Affordability Index, and Home Buyers and Sellers Profile Report. He regularly provides commentary on real estate market trends for its 1.5 million REALTORS®.

Dr. Yun creates NAR's forecasts and participates in many economic forecasting panels, among them the Blue Chip Council and the Wall Street Journal Forecasting Survey. He also participates in the Industrial Economists Discussion Group at the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University. He appears regularly on financial news outlets, is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences throughout the United States, and has testified before Congress. Dr. Yun has also appeared as a guest on CSPAN's Washington Journal.

Dr. Yun received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland at College Park.

    • Coffee and muffins available—No food or drink is allowed inside the 3M Auditorium
  • 9:30 am–12 pm
    •  Presentations in the 3M Auditorium

    • Box lunches provided. Guests can eat on site or take their lunches to the Capitol

    • (Optional) Buses will take members to the Capitol Complex
  • 1 pm
    • (Optional) Visit the Capitol Complex and drop by the offices of your legislators
    • Please note: These are “drop-in” visits—MNR will not be scheduling formal meetings with legislators
  • Buses will run continuously to return to MN History Center parking lot 
    • Please note: The MN History Center building will not be open. Members will be dropped off to return to their vehicles

What to Expect

Minnesota Economic Insights Presentation by NAR’s Chief Economist Dr. Lawrence Yun
Dr. Yun oversees the Research group at the National Association of Realtors®. Legislative Update from MNR Governmental Affairs Department
Governmental Affairs Senior Vice President Paul Eger and Director Matt Spellman will provide an update on the 2024 Legislative Session and the key legislative issues Minnesota Realtors® need to know.

Parking

Parking is available on site at the Minnesota History Center lot for $6. This option is highly preferred for attendees. Additionally, metered street parking will be available around the building.
