You can locate this number by logging into your member portal: 

  1. Log in to your member portal account. 

  1. On the homepage, locate your office(s) listed in the left column.

Legal Hotline Guidelines

To ensure the service operates effectively for members, please note the following: 

  • Access is limited to the Principal Broker or an approved Office Manager (if a Realtor®) for the brokerage and its offices. 

  • Sales associates may participate in conversations with the broker or office manager present. 

  • The Legal Hotline provides legal information only and does not constitute legal representation for you or your firm. 

  • Brokers and agents should not relay Legal Hotline support as legal advice to clients or customers. 

  • Do not share the Legal Hotline phone numbers or your access code with associates.

Adding or Removing Authorized Office Managers

Only the Principal Broker / Manager Designee may authorize or change who has access to the Legal Hotline for their brokerage. 

To add or remove an approved Office Manager: 

  1. Contact your local Realtor® association. 

  1. Request that an individual be added or removed as an authorized contact for your brokerage. 

  1. Allow up to 24 hours for the update to sync in the system. 


Meet the Legal Hotline Attorneys

Jonathan Kopecky Headshot

Jonathan C. Kopecky, JD

Senior Vice President of Legal Affairs

Jonathan Kopecky graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in political science and theology. He then received his Juris Doctorate from the Saint Louis University School of Law in 1998, and has been licensed to practice law in both Iowa (since 1999) and Minnesota (since 2003). Jon practiced real estate law for five years as an associate at Ackley, Kopecky & Kingery, LLP and then practiced canon law for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis for eight years.  

In May 2013, Jon started as MNR’s director of professional standards. He was responsible for processing and reviewing formal ethics complaints filed by both the public and other licensed real estate agents. His duties included interfacing with the public and agents regarding potential ethical concerns, administering grievance reviews to ascertain the merit of ethics complaints, and administering hearing panels to ensure that all parties to an allegation are heard. He has extensive knowledge of the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) Code of Ethics, in addition to real estate law. Joholds a Certificate of Scholastic Achievement for Instruction in the Professional Standards Administration Program from the NAR Executives Institute.  

In May 2023, Jon became the Senior Vice President of Legal Affairs at Minnesota Realtors®. 

Ayme von Seebach

Amye von Seebach, JD

Associate Legal Counsel & Director of Professional Standards

Amye von Seebach attended Presbyterian College in South Carolina and earned her Juris Doctor at Birmingham School of Law where she finished 2nd in her class.  Amye is admitted to practice law in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Alabama. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association. She also volunteers with the Advocates for Human Rights, Just Deeds, and Volunteer Lawyers Network, LTD. It was through her work with this organization that Amye first developed a love for real estate law and saw real estate as a way to positively impact the lives of real people.   

Amye is a somewhat new transplant to Minneapolis from Birmingham, Alabama where she worked directly with residential Realtors® at HomeServices of America. Most recently, she worked on a national commercial real estate team as Underwriting Counsel at Frist American Title Insurance Company.  

No professional challenge has ever equaled Amye’s work as a mom. She spends as much time as possible with her amazing children, the family she was born with, and the family she has built along the way.  Amye has always loved the Gulf Coast beaches and is falling in love with all Minnesota has to offer from the incredible bike trails and parks to the terrific music and theater scene.   

John Wittmer

John Wittmer, JD

Associate Legal Counsel

Prior to joining the legal department at Minnesota Realtors®, John spent nearly ten years in private practice representing and advising clients including common interest communities, homeowners, and home construction contractors. John received his B.A. from the University of Texas and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School. Outside the office, John enjoys spending time with his wife and two young boys, playing basketball, and woodworking in his garage.
