10:00 - 11:00 AM Opening Session - Still Standing. Still Smiling with John KrieselIn 2006 John Kriesel was nearly killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq. After getting to the hospital, he technically died three times and was shocked back to life. He survived through four hospitals, 35 surgeries, and months of recovery. John lost both legs and suffered numerous other major injuries. He was told he wasn't supposed to survive and that he would be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Yet he walked out of Walter Reed Army Medical Center after nine months.
